Two men have been stabbed near a shopping centre in Croydon this afternoon.

Pensioner couple kept 73 distressed and diseased cats in one squalid room

Police were called to reports of a male in his late teens suffering stab injuries at 5.17pm at the Whitgift Shopping Centre.

On arrival emergency services found a second person had been stabbed – a 16-year-old boy – at the shopping centre as well.

Met officers, London Ambulance Service paramedics and London’s Air Ambulance all attended the town centre location.

A Met Police spokesperson said: ‘Police were called at 5.17pm on Friday, April 6, to a male aged in his late teens or early 20s suffering stab injuries at the Whitgift Shopping Centre in Croydon.

‘Officers, LAS and London’s Air Ambulance all attended the location.

‘A 16-year-old male, also suffering stab injuries, was found at the location. Both were taken to hospital.

‘We await an update as to their conditions.

‘Detectives from Croydon CID are investigating. There have been no arrests at this stage.’
